I was recently contacted to spread the word to you readers and to enter a competition to have a chance to become the young interior designer of the year for Valspar. For those of you that don't already know who Valspar are, they are a paint brand who's products are now available from B&Q stores. The competition is to create a bright living room with a good use of colours and to send them a digital mood board of your design.

There will be just 8 entrants shortlisted for the award who's work will be judged by Dame Zandra Rhodes, Lindsey Rendall, Will Taylor, Marianne Cotterill and Claire Cullen. To enter the competition you must be an interior design student or a recent interior design graduate as one of the prizes is some funding towards your studies or career! The entry deadline is 15th May, so you don't have long left to enter, but I know I'm definitely going to give it a try.
